Animals

    Please come to “Open House” Tuesday, August 14.  You may stop by anytime between 4:00 and 7:00 pm. Please bring your child’s school supplies and let your child explore our classroom and visit with me. 
     Every week I will post a "Letter of the Week" on our school website explaining our new theme, letter, vocabulary, song, party, and upcoming field trip.  The letter of the week will be in the top left side on a computer screen and at the bottom of the page on a phone.  Please check folders for schoolwork and send folders back to school everyday.  If you need to contact me please send a note in your child's folder.    
     We will be talking about our favorite animals this week. This week our letter is "A".  
Ask your child to tell you the definition of our vocabulary words.  Our vocabulary words are animals, mammals, plant eaters, and meat eaters. Please have your child show and tell you our Sign Language and Spanish vocabulary.  Sign Language and Spanish vocabulary words are hola (hello), friends (amigos), thank you (gracias).

     Our song is "Animals".  Please ask your child to sing and do the Sign Language to our weekly songs for you at home.   I know a song about animals, animals.  Some are big.  Some are small.  Some are very, very tall.  Animals, animals.  Some are short.  Some are long.  Some are very, very strong.  Animals, animals.  Some are smooth.  Some are hairy.  Some are very, very, scary.  Animals, animals. ©Jen Jones

    Class questions: “What is your favorite animal?” & “What animal would you like to be for a day?”

      We play outside, paint, and get messy so please remember to have your child wear play clothes.  No tie shoes please!  Only slip on, velcro, or zippers please.  Pre-k students may wear flip flops. Students must be able to put their shoes on and off and take care of all bathroom needs by themselves.    

Please do not drive around back to drop off your child.  Other classes have morning recess and it is too dangerous.

We are going to have a GREAT TIME!
