About Me

Educational History:

Sapulpa High School Class of 1993, TU class of 1997, SWOSU graduate studies 2018.

Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting, The University of Tulsa, December 1997

Master of Education in Special Education, Southwestern Oklahoma State University, July 2018

Current Position:

I began teaching special education at Pretty Water School in 2017.  I am happy to be embarking on my second year.

Previous Position:

I began working in the field of special education in 2015 as a long term substitute at Berryhill working with students in 4th-6th grades.  The following year I worked with the same students as a paraprofessional.  It was during this time that I found my passion for advocating for students with special needs and began pursuing my master’s degree in special education in the spring of 2017.

Family Information:

I have been married to my husband Jerry for 23 years.  We have two boys.  Taylor is 17 years old and is a Senior this year.  Lane is 15 years old and is a Sophomore.  We have one dog that we refer to as a “bird heeler” since she is part bird dog and part blue heeler.  Her name is Cinnamon.  We are a busy family always at a sporting event it seems.  Taylor plays basketball at school and also on an AAU team and runs cross country.  Lane is an avid weight lifter and a member of the Berryhill Acadmic Team.  We are very proud of our boys who have maintained a straight A average throughout their school careers even while taking AP classes in high school.  They are both in GT and members of the National Honor Society.  Taylor will continue taking college classes this year in addition to his high school classes.  My parents live only 3 miles from us, so they are very involved in our lives as well.  My father is a retired IT specialist from BP Amoco and my mother is a retired Kindergarten teacher from Lone Star School.  I’m thankful to be a part of the Pretty Water family and am looking forward to a great second year teaching at Pretty Water!

Personal Information:

My primary hobby is cheering on my boys in their extracurricular activites.  I love being a boymom!  My other hobbies include photography, reading, and loom knitting.  I love taking pictures of my boys!  In the future I would like to spend some time learning to use PhotoShop more proficiently.
