"Oklahoma Animals" Letter of the Week

We will be talking about Oklahoma animals this week!
We will learn about Scissortail flycatchers, bison, white tail deer, squirrels, prairie dogs, and coyotes.
Some great places to see Oklahoma wildlife are: Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge, Chickasaw National Recreation Area,  and the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve. There is no entrance fee to any of these Oklahoma treasures! I just saw baby bison at the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge!!!

The Oklahoma City Zoo has a whole area dedicated to Oklahoma wildlife. The Tulsa zoo is great fun and yearly passes are $20 off in the month of May. You can then use your pass to get half off the entrance fee at the Oklahoma City Zoo.
It would be fun to pull up a map to show your child their continent is North America,
their country is the United States of America or (U.S.A.),
their state is Oklahoma,
and their city is Sapulpa (it may be Sand Springs for some).

Please ask your child the following questions.
What do scissortail flycatchers eat?
What do bison eat?
What do deer eat?
What do squirrels eat?
What do prairie dogs eat?
What do coyotes eat?
What continent do you live on?
What country do you live in?
What state do you live in?
What city do you live in?
