"Rain Forests and Chimpanzees" Letter of the Week

   

Our theme is "Rainforest and Chimpanzees" this week.
Our class will learn where rainforests are located and the many amazing animals that live in them.
Please help your child locate the equator on a map because that is the area where tropical rainforests are located.
We will focus on chimpanzees and how apes are different from monkeys. 
Apes are bigger and do not have tails. 
We will also learn about lemurs.
We will be learning shapes. 
Please make sure your child knows their basic shapes and also the more challenging ones like, hexagon, pentagon, and octagon.
We will also be reviewing the colors in Spanish and Sign Language. 
Have your child teach you the "Color Song". 
Please ask your child the following questions. 
Where do chimpanzees live? 
What do chimpanzees eat?
Where are rainforests located? (The middle of the earth or the equator)
Why are jungles so warm? (Because the equator gets the most direct sunlight.)
What food comes from the rain forests?
Where do lemurs live?
What do they eat?
Would you rather be a chimpanzee or a lemur?
Who is Jane Goodall?
Ask your child to tell you the definition of our vocabulary words.
